2nd Warwick are lucky to have a team of excellent volunteers (yes really, no one gets paid, not even for our two week Scout Camp). The group is made up of Scout leaders and Executive Committee members as below.
Everyone has their own role and responsibilities vary with those roles, but essentially we wouldn't do the job if we didn't enjoy it.
We have an additional mini site showing our current adult vacancies here: volunteering.2wk.org.uk
‘For anyone thinking of becoming a Scout, I say, go for it, come and join the big adventure.’ - Bear Grylls, Chief Scout 2009 - 2024
Well it can be roughly split into two groups, child facing and adult support
"it's only 2 hours a week"
"I got a 100% pay rise this year!!"

Coming to tidy the hut
Helping with hut maintenance
Helping at boating events
Help out on a camp or other event
We do recognise that a lot of our parents give much more than this and we are very grateful for your support.
So before you say - sorry I am too busy, think of the leaders who have full time jobs, families and other commitments yet still turn up every week to run the Scouting programme.
Why do we do it? Because it's fun! The rewards are amazing! And we want to say thank you to a volunteer who gave their time to help us!
"Well, as a volunteer of some 18 years, I can say with all honesty, FUN, we wouldn't do it otherwise to be honest. There is a sense of comradery while running events, I take great pleasure in seeing the Scouts grow and learn skills, and occasional adults weekends give leaders a chance to gain new skills too." Explorer Leader
In 1997 Jenny camped with her Guides and 2nd's Scouts. In 2000 she became an Assistant Scout Leader when the girls troop was started.
She has held many roles since and became Group Lead Volunteer in 2025.
Viv was our treasurer for a number of years and stepped up to take the role as the Chair of our Trustee b#Board.
Paul was foolish enough to tell us he could count and ended up as the Treasurer
After 30 years in Guiding, I joined my family at 2nd Warwick in 2004. On and off since then I've had various roles including providing masses of food at camps. email
