2nd Warwick Explorer Scouts
 A mixed gender Group for young people between 14 and 18 years of age. In the 4 years with the explorer unit you could earn your Chief Scouts Platinum, Chief Scouts Diamond and Queen Scout Award, these come with an added bonus of Duke of Edinburgh awards Bronze Silver and Gold.

Weekends In the Solent?

As part of our Easter weekend, we have taken a yacht around the isle of Wight, RIBbed to Cowes for dinner returning in the dark, and sailed dinghies to the Isle of Wight.

What do you get up to in Winter?

Well, our Winter program is varied but includes; Rock Climbing, Pioneering (building stuff), talks from interesting people, team games, hikes and much more.

What do you do in the Summer?

Well, during the Summer you will find us on the river.  We can canoe, kayak, row, sail or powerboat on the river, with trips up- river to the weir, a little rafting or some paddle boarding thrown in on the side.

What else do you do on a sunny afternoon? This was part of our summer camp program, along with sailing in Studland Bay, Camping on Brownsea Island, Canoeing & Kayaking and much more....

Who is who?

Well, the explorers organise a lot of their own program so its really them that are in charge, however the adults are:

Titch - He is the Explorer Scout leader, and has been for 15 years.  He was a Scout and Venture Scout with 2nd Warwick so knows the area quite well.

He has a team around him, Martin, Mark, Barbie, Carrie and Lexi most have been around for a while (some would probably rather not say how long)

Cardboard City - Making and sleeping in cardboard shelters A week on the french canals  Visited Kandersteg in Switzerland and taken in everything from Swimming in Glacial Lakes to Summer bobsledding to Hiking in the Alps. Surf camp near Woolacombe, including coasteering and gokarting
