New Group Chairman needed

A rare opportunity to lead the 2nd Warwick Sea Scout Group towards their 60th anniversary in 2019 has opened up after the previous Chairman had to step down due to work commitments.

2nd Warwick Sea Scout Group is large thriving Group of approximately 170 Youngsters, over 25 active and experienced Leaders and a well organised and populated Exec. The Group is one of 103 Sea Scout Groups recognised by the Royal Navy and is in fact one of only two such Groups in Warwickshire.

On top of all the normal Scouting activities we have been granted Planning permission to allow us to build a new HQ in St Nicholas Park Warwick close to the River Avon where a lot of our boating activities take place, in addition to having a fleet of boats at Draycote water near Rugby. We have an enthusiastic new hut sub committee and as Group Chairman you will be assisting them in linking with key Professionals and local community Stakeholders.

We are a registered charity (reg no 524609) and have had many years of submitting Trustee reports and accounts which are available for review to give further background to the Group.

We need a person to lead and co-ordinate the Group Executive, this is a Management roll, to oversee the work of the executive committee. The Executive committee manage the building, finances, insurance, utilities and much more.

We are also looking for other adults who may be interested in becoming a leader in any of our sections.

If you are interested or know someone else who would be suitable for the role or is interested in becoming a leader, please email and we'll sort out a no obligation chat to learn more about this magnificent opportunity and volunteering at 2nd Warwick Sea Scouts.
